We are now seeking talented Technical Manager – Infrastructure to join our brand-new office in Lisboa, Portugal. This critical role will work as part of the Infrastructure team, overseeing and guiding a team of engineers and other professionals as they work on a wide range of infrastructure projects. As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for technical leadership, project management, and team development. 

 

Responsibilities

We envisage success in this role to include: 

 

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers and technical staff focused on infrastructure projects, including utilities, roads and structures. 
  • Oversee project lifecycle, from concept to final delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. 
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives. 
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team, ensuring the highest quality of work and adherence to industry standards and regulations. 
  • Lead by example and actively contribute to project design and technical tasks as needed. 
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively to achieve project goals. 
  • Collaborate with the senior management team to identify and acquire new clients, markets, and projects.  
  • Cultivate client relationships, prepare proposals, and contribute to the growth of the infrastructure projects portfolio.  
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging professional development and knowledge sharing. 
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in infrastructure engineering.  

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (a Master’s degree is an advantage), with a minimum of 15 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, and a strong background in technical management. A professional institution membership is desirable. 

 

Furthermore, you should demonstrate: 

 

  • Proven experience in directing and managing multidisciplinary engineering teams. 
  • In-depth knowledge of infrastructure design practices. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and team members. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese. 
  • Proficiency in relevant software for infrastructure engineering and management. 
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
