Our newest opportunity is for a Project Engineer- Landfill/Waste Management to join our award-winning team based in Lisbon, Portugal. 

 

Reporting directly to a Project Manager in our award winning Sustainability and Environment Division, this role is responsible for support on landfill (re)design and waste management related projects across the Middle East and potentially further abroad.

Responsibilities

We envisage success in this role to include:

  • Developing and preparing design drawings (including 3D modelling), reports, analysis, research and presentations relating to landfill, lagoon, remediation and earthworks in accordance with applicable legislation and local conditions. 
  • Undertaking engineering calculations relating to landfill design (geosynthetics, hydrology, geotechnical stability) and waste management planning (waste generation modelling). 
  • Developing design related tender documentation including BOQ's (bill of quantities), specifications and CQA plan.  
  • Assisting in the preparation and contributing to the content of tenders proposals for the Sustainability and Environment Division and any cross discipline bids for other KEO Divisions.  

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 3 to 7 years' work experience partnered with a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering. Essential to have consultancy experience in landfill/waste containment design in accordance with international best practice.

 

Experience in landfill, lagoon, waste containment design will be preferred. However, candidates with roads, dams, hydraulics, geotechnical design experiences will be also considered for the role.

 

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D on landfill and/or earthworks related design tasks is required. Working towards Chartered status and / or Professional Membership will be viewed favourably.
